Overview
Pet Room
- Nimbus: Nimbus is NOT fixed yet and can be hormonal if you try to move her or pick her up, typically she will either growl and/or move away.
- Pickle: Pickle IS fixed but he is an escape artist, if you open the door hatch he will try to walk out. He is a stubborn boy so he will not go up easily, don't let him out unless you're able to catch him, I would keep pet room door closed when getting in or out of his habitat. It is recommended to use the "gopher" to scoot his food bowl closest to the door.
Food/Water
- Both rabbits have a large bowl for water and a large bowl for greens and pellets.
- Lettuce is given in the daytime and pellets are given at night time.
- Hay must be present at all times so a giant stack can be given during each visit. Use the "gopher" for grabbing and scooting the hay back towards the center of Pickle's habitat.
- Water bowls should be at at least 50% full and free of hay that they will occasionally get kicked up into the bowl. Rubber gloves (purple) are on the table and can be used to pull out and throw away the hay before dumping old water. Wipe out bowls with paper towels before replacing in cage and adding fresh water.
Habitat Cleaning
- Rabbit habitats should be cleaned once per week. Unlimited paper towels (extra in hallway bathroom closet); cleaner, vinyl gloves, puppy pads (pet room closet), and broom/dustpan are nearby. We will do a fresh cleaning the day before we leave so you may only have to do it once if we are only gone 7-10 days.
- Nimbus's habitat after removing old hay, poop pellets, and spot cleaning floor will get a fresh layer of hay across the entirety of the pen. She does not get puppy pads since she pulls them out and destroys them. In lieu of pads the thick layer of hay will serve as a pen liner.
- Pickle's habitat after removing old hay, poop pellets, and soiled pads and spot cleaning will get fresh pads applied in the corner. It is recommended to layer them 6 deep and alternate as demonstrated during your introduction. The first two should be masking taped to wall.
