Overview
VERY IMPORTANT: KEEP ALL EXTERIOR DOORS LOCKED AND CLOSED WHEN CHANGING OUT ITEMS IN BIRD CAGES. VISUALLY CONFIRM ALL 9 BIRDS ARE PRESENT AND IN THEIR CAGE BEFORE LEAVING.
Living Room
- Living Room has four separate habitats. Due to bonding and territorial behavior, some birds in one group do not get along with those in another group.
- It is highly recommended to do food and water changing at night after dark when they are more likely to be huddled up trying to sleep in the corner of the cage.
Conure Group A (FOUR BIRDS: LARGE BLACK CAGE NEXT TO SUPPLY CABINET)
Conure Group B (ONE BIRD: BLUE CAGE ON TOP OF BAR TABLE)
Conure Group C (ONE BIRD: CORNER CAGE BY DECK DOOR)
Cockatiels (THREE BIRDS: WHITE CAGE NEAREST KITCHEN)
Behavior
- Yoshi in Conure Group A WILL try to sneak out of the cage at every opportunity. The others in Conure Group A may or may not. Be watchful.
Food/Water
- All birds are on a mixture of different diets. Each food type is labeled in the very top shelf of cabinet.
- Conure Group A, B, and C get Roudybush. Pour into bowl up to 1/2 to 3/4 full.
- Cockatiels get both Zupreem and Kaytee Seed (separate bowls) one scoop per bowl. The seed husks will need to be dumped before adding fresh seed.
- The conures have a habit of bathing/splashing in the water when they notice it is changed so give it a once over right before you leave to make sure it's still full.
Habitat Cleaning
- While we will freshly change out trays the day before leaving it may be necessary to change them out if we are gone longer than a week.
- Heavy duty black garbage bags for soiled newspaper can be found under the sink.
- Vinyl gloves can be found above the washer/dryer area.
- Fresh newspaper can be found in the supply cabinet next to Conure Group A.
